William I. Myers

William Myers, second governor of the Farm Credit Administration, is recognized as the chief architect of the Farm Credit System. He developed plans for using the Land Banks to save thousands of farmers from foreclosure, and for setting up production credit associations and Banks for Cooperatives. In addition, he helped the American Institute of Cooperation develop its educational program after World War II, and served on the International Development Advisory Board of the International Cooperation Administration. He was also an advisor to Agway in its early years.
